The National Institute for Health and Care Research is pleased to share an opportunity for members of the public who have lived or caring experience of breast cancer to be involved in the shaping of a commercial trial. They are working with a company to help them improve their planned research. Our partner is looking for people who are willing to read through draft documents that have been prepared for people interested in taking part in the study and giving feedback on how clearly the information has been written and presented. This will help them to design a study that is focused on the needs of the patient, their family, and their community.
The University of Liverpool are looking for volunteers to take part in an individual online interview exploring the process of recovery from psychosis and how mindfulness has been used in the recovery journey. As part of the interview, you will be asked to bring items which have some personal significance to your recovery experiences with you. This could include photographs, art, or objects. They hope this research will help them to gain more information about how recovery can be promoted for those experiencing psychosis.

Calla Lily Clinical Care is a UK-based women’s health company developing a new way to deliver vaginal progesterone – a hormone treatment used to help prevent miscarriage. They are preparing for a small trial to test their device, called Callavid, to see if it safely delivers progesterone into the bloodstream, and how it compares to the current option (Cyclogest pessaries).
The project focuses on adapting the Friendship Bench Zimbabwe, a successful, community-driven mental health initiative originally developed in Zimbabwe, to better support Black communities in London. The goal is to create a culturally responsive, accessible mental wellness programme that meets the specific needs of underserved communities.
Real is a Disabled People’s Organisation carrying out research into D/deaf and Disabled people’s quality of life across London using a research tool called the ‘Personal Outcomes Scale’. This explores what is important to you in different areas of your life, for example your social inclusion, health, and happiness. Over the two-year project, Real will interview 1000 people.
This study is conducted by the Powerful Perpetrators research group at the University of Bristol. It explores the nature and prevalence of sexual misconduct and abuse perpetrated by UK professionals against adults. It also looks at the professional regulatory and employer disciplinary mechanisms used to investigate and sanction their behaviour, with a view to improving how these cases are understood and handled.
This study by researchers at King's College London, is looking at food experiences of people living with Crohn's and Colitis. They want to understand how food affects daily life. Researchers also want to learn what support (if any) people have received for food and diet in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and what help (if any) they would like. Researchers want to interview people living with Crohn’s and Colitis. The results from this study will be used to help develop digital support for food-related difficulties in people living with IBD.
This research project, conducted by the Institute for Mental Health at the University of Birmingham, seeks to explore how challenging social experiences influence the ability of young adults with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) or Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD) to engage in acts of compassion. he study has been co-developed with experts by lived experience to ensure it reflects the perspectives and priorities of those with BPD/EUPD.
This is a lived experience-led interview research project, designed by a PhD student at King’s College London. They hope to interview people, including from diverse backgrounds and with marginalised social identities, who are living with personality disorder diagnoses and who have recently been through a particularly difficult time with their mental heath. This could be described as an ‘intense period of distress’ or ‘crisis’.
