Construction Industry and Mental Health: a Photovoice Study

A University College London (UCL)-led study is exploring mental distress and suicide-related experiences in the construction industry. The study seeks participants who have experienced suicidal thoughts while working in construction. Participants will take part in two interviews and a photography activity exploring their mental health journey, coping experiences, and available support. The study is funded by Economicand Social Research Council (ESRC) and BAM UK & Ireland.

 

Who they are looking for:

  • people working in construction now, or did so in the last 5 years; AND
  • people who have experienced suicidal thoughts while working in construction

 

Expected commitment from participants:

  • Two interviews of 45–60 mins focusing on your life and work
  • A brief photography task where you take photos that represent your mental health journey
  • All interviews will be online on Teams or Zoom
  • Participants will have the flexibility to decide time and dates of the interviews

Involvement Payment Details
