Cancer Research UK for Children & Young People Insights Panel
Join a group of people affected by children’s and young people’s cancers to provide your views and experiences to help shape the direction of our work and ensure it represents the needs of all children and young people affected by cancer.
Who the team is looking for:
- People aged 18 or over,
- Affected by children’s and young people’s cancers (patients, parents/carers, loved ones), and
- Based in the UK.
Expected commitment from participants:
- Minimum term 18 months to a maximum term of 3 years,
- Responding to email consultations every other month, and
- 90-minute online meetings (held on weekday evenings) three times a year.
You do not need to have:
- Any prior knowledge of Cancer Research UK or the work they do
- An understanding of research
- A scientific understanding of cancer
Cancer Research UK will:
- Give you an induction session to help you understand Cancer Research UK and the role you’ll play
- Provide you with a key contact available via email or telephone throughout your role
- Discuss if you require any reasonable adjustments so we can best support you
- Create a safe and open environment for feedback
- Send you background information on anything we consult you on

Expenses and Involvement
Payments will be offered in line with Cancer Research UK's payment policy. Honorarium payments will be offered plus virtual activity allowance depending on time spent. For example, if you spend up to 2 hours completing consultations in one month you can claim £30 plus a £5 virtual allowance.
