Cancer Research UK Cancer Data Patient & Public Community
The Cancer Data Patient & Public Community works together with Cancer Research UK and other organisations to improve the use of data in cancer research, aiming for improvements in detection, personalised care and treatments. By bringing together those affected by cancer and the wider public, the Community uses lived experiences to shape research and promote transparent and ethical data practices. Through public consultations and co-designing research, they work towards a future where data-driven discoveries lead to better outcomes for all affected by cancer.
Who the team are looking for:
The team are looking for people aged 18 or over. The Cancer Data Patient & Public Community is open to anyone, based in the UK, whether or not you have a personal experience of cancer or not. You do not need to have:
- Any prior knowledge of Cancer Research UK or the work we do.
- An understanding of research.
- A scientific understanding of cancer.
Expected commitment from participants:
Flexible, you can be involved in as much or as little as you like.

Involvement Payment Details
Payments are offered in line with Cancer Research UK's payment policy. Payments are offered depending on the time spent. For example, if participants spend up to 2 hours completing consultations in one month, they can claim £30 plus a £5 virtual allowance.
