Between June 2015 and November 2015, the British Association of Social Workers and Shaping Our Lives brought a number of Disabled adults and social workers together to discuss how Disabled adults and social workers relate to each other, and what changes could be made so the two groups could achieve more together. This position paper expresses the results of those discussions, stating how these groups can take action together to tackle physical, social, economic and other barriers to independent living, and help Disabled adults and social workers work better together to achieve the outcomes that people want. This charter was developed by Disabled adults and social workers working together as equal partners.
