Gateshead Older People's Assembly was established in 2002. As a charity, we create and support opportunities for over 50s in Gateshead to improve their health and maintain their independence through opportunities to socialise, exercise, and learn. A major part of our work focuses on ensuring Gateshead's communities are full of engaging and enjoyable opportunities for older people to stay healthy, learn new skills, and make new friends. To achieve this, we set up free classes and groups in community venues where over 50s tell us they'd like to spend their time.
