​Derbyshire Gypsy Liaison Group provides valuable assistance and information to the Gypsy community in Derbyshire. DGLG also has a close relationship with local authorities and services. DGLG work is not exclusively in Derbyshire. DGLG activities include: Seeking and securing authorised stopping places and planning permission; Advising local authorities on site matters; Health care guidance; Supporting children in school and education; Welfare aid and housing guidance; Exhibitions, research, cultural history; Training for statutory bodies including the Police, Healthcare and Social Services; and Working with the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) working towards a national GRT (Gypsy Roma Traveller) strategy to improve the lack of sites.
