Rain Within the Rainbow
Edinburgh University is currently recruiting people to take part in its research aiming to understand LGBTQ+ suicide and suicide prevention at all ages. The project, entitled Rain Within the Rainbow, aims to find out more about what contributes to distress or crisis, what has helped people to stay safe and well, and what support people with personal experience think should be available. Rain Within the Rainbow is interested in connecting with people from across the LGBTQ+ community, and with a diversity of experiences of suicide. So if you are LGBTQ+, aged 13+, living in the UK and have personal experience of suicidal thoughts, feelings or attempts, they want to hear from you.
Who they are looking for:
- Part of the LGBTQ+ community
- Aged 13+
- Living in the UK
- Personal experience of suicidal thoughts, feelings or attempts
There are several ways you can take part:
- Interview – up to 90 minutes (online or in person)
- Survey – up to 30 minutes (online)
- Self-completion leaflet – timing up to you (can be done anywhere)
Closing date to apply: ongoing
Interviews are being conducted in private rooms in venues such as libraries and community centres, close to where interviewees are based. All venues will be wheelchair accessible. They are very flexible on the timing of these interviews.
