A tribute to Jeremy Browne
16 November 2022
We at Shaping Our Lives were shocked and saddened by the passing of Jeremy Browne last month.
Jeremy was one of our National User group members. He was a retired solicitor specialising in family law and was Chair of the Society of Visually Impaired Lawyers.
As part of Shaping Our Lives Jeremy helped to guide the direction of our work on inclusive involvement. We are grateful to have worked with him, thankful for the wisdom he shared, and for his friendship. We will miss him greatly and his work with Shaping Our Lives will have a lasting legacy.
Tributes to Jeremy:
“This is a real shame, his impartial advice during the Community Interest Company process was simply priceless.”
“We are shocked and really saddened. Jeremy has been a lovely person to work with and get to know during the time he has been with us. It feels so unjust that someone like him, thoughtful, contributing, humble and helpful has been taken from us all like this. we liked, valued and respected him. It will certainly take some getting used to not hearing from him again.”
“Jeremy was a lovely man, I enjoyed working with him a lot.”
“Jeremy was a well-respected member of Shaping and Lives and will be sorely missed by us all.”
“Jeremy was a great help, offering straightforward and thoughtful advice and support with grace and a sense of humour. It was an enormous shock to hear he has died and he will leave a very large and hard to fill gap in our National User Group. His contributions will always be present at Shaping Our Lives.”
