New Welsh study – do you have experiences of care and support for older people?

A new research study taking place across Wales will explore the idea of prevention in social care and support. Run by Swansea University, the study is looking at this issue regarding older people, including those living with memory problems, and those receiving care and support at home.

They are looking for:

If you have experiences of care and support for older people in these contexts, such as receiving care or are an unpaid carer for an older person, they would like to invite you to be part of the study team.

More information:

Some of the activities they are looking for your help with would be your attendance at Steering Group meetings (held remotely) so as to ensure the study is progressing in line with expectation, reviewing service user study documents to make sure they are clear, and helping to decide which research to perform in certain regions.

The project is funded by Health and Care Research Wales and is set to take place across several Welsh regions. They are keen to recruit four individuals to represent each of the following four Welsh regions: West Wales; Cardiff and Vale; North Wales; and Powys.

The study will run until October 2024 with the Steering Group meetings held on a quarterly basis.
