Give your perspective on the impact of the National Institute for Health and Care Research

Closing date: End of June 2022

The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) works with the NHS, universities, local government, other research funders, patients and the public, to fund, enable and deliver world-leading health and social care research that improves people’s health and wellbeing.

The NIHR are conducting a study to investigate the history and impact of NIHR patient and public involvement.

They intend to capture the views, stories and experiences of people who have been involved in research since NIHR’s foundation in 2006, and use these to understand what has changed (or not changed) in how PPI is structured, organised or delivered since then. This research is being undertaken with the knowledge and support of the NIHR Centre for Engagement and Dissemination.

The survey will be open until the end of June and they hope to capture responses from a diverse range of public contributors. To follow on from this, later in the year they will be providing opportunities for people to tell their stories in more detail through either interviews or workshops.

Please contact Mark Taylor ( if you’d like to discuss any aspect of this study.
