Research study exploring the relationship between childhood trauma and voice-hearing

Beth and Molly are two doctoral researchers at Royal Holloway University of London. They are inviting you to take part in a study exploring the relationship between childhood trauma and voice-related distress in adults that hear voices. If you decide to take part, Beth/Molly will ask you to complete five short questionnaires. These questionnaires will ask about experiences of childhood trauma, relationships with others, coping strategies, and your voice hearing experiences.

They are looking for:

Adults with a history of childhood trauma who are currently hearing voices are eligible to take part.

Expected commitment from participants:

If you decide to take part, Beth/Molly will ask you to complete five short questionnaires. These questionnaires will ask about experiences of childhood trauma, relationships with others, coping strategies, and your voice hearing experiences. This will take around 45-90 minutes and will be completed online with the researcher.

Commitment to inclusion:

The researchers are committed to making adjustments during the study to ensure participant’s access needs are met. For example, the researchers will support all participants to complete the questionnaires during an online call. They can book multiple timeslots for you if you are likely to require additional time to read/process information.
